Daily Care
Cleansing

Cleansing your face is like brushing your teeth; for maximum results, it should be a twice-daily ritual. By cleansing in the morning and before going to bed, make sure that all dirt, makeup, oil, debris and sunscreens are thoroughly removed.
Choose your cleanser based on your skin’s condition. If you have dry skin, a creamier, cushiony-type cleanser is a great option. The emollient texture of this cleanser keeps drier skins more comfortable during the cleaning process. If you have combination or oily skin, choose a gel-based type of cleanser. Gels remove stubborn oil and debris more quickly and effectively.
Exfoliating

Choose a grainy-type scrub that will gently, but effectively, remove clogging from the skin. Remember, there is no correlation between harsh rubbing and scrubbing and great-looking skin. When it comes to polishing your skin, slow and steady wins the race. Massage your favorite scrub in a slow, gentle, circular motion on the skin. Polish the skin for at least 30 to 60 seconds each time you do it. This will reveal smoother, softer, brighter and more radiant-looking skin.
Exfoliating products can work in different layers of the skin to achieve maximum results.
The best benefits can be achieved by exfoliating 2-3 times a week. A drier skin condition might exfoliate 1-2 times a week. A more oily skin can exfoliate 2-3 times a week. Always use your exfoliating products after you cleanse your skin.
Toning

Choose a toner to complement both your cleanser and your skin’s condition. If you are dry, use a moisture-binding toner to help lock in precious hydration. A combination-to-oily skin will want a balancing toner to absorb excess oil and provide comfort to drier areas of the face.
Choose your toner to complement your favorite cleanser.
Use your toner twice a day after your favorite cleanser. Always apply it with a 100% cotton ball or pad in a gentle, patting/sweeping motion.
Moisturizing

The right moisturizer ensures maximum skin comfort and resiliency all day or all night. A moisturizer adds back into your skin lost hydration, making the skin softer, smoother and more supple-looking. Choose your moisturizer based on your skin’s condition. A drier skin will enjoy a creamy, more-emollient hydrator. A skin condition that has oil will find a lighter-weight lotion the best option. Besides replenishing lost moisture into the skin, some moisturizers can control and absorb oil, repair damaged skin, repair the skin’s protective moisture barrier or even help prevent premature aging in the skin.
NOTE: Having an SPF 15 in your daily moisturizer or foundation formula eliminates an extra skincare step in the morning as your moisturizer or foundation will also help to protect you from the sun’s harmful aging and burning rays.
Choose a moisturizer to fit your skin’s condition. Lighter-weight options are great for oil-rich skin, while more-emollient creams nourish and comfort drier skin types.
Use your moisturizer twice a day after your favorite toner.
Problems & Solutions
Acne
Causes: Breakouts occur when debris becomes trapped in the pores of our skin. Possible “cloggers” include oil, dead skin, dirt, bacteria and makeup products that are not non-acnegenic. With many culprits, a multitarget solution is necessary! Products containing salicylic acid will work gently, yet effectively, to keep pores unclogged. Choosing products that help to heal existing breakout while preventing future blemishes from occurring is the best solution to achieving clear skin.

Under-Eye Issues: Dark Circles, Puffiness, Lines & Wrinkles
Causes:
The skin around your eyes is thinner and more delicate than the
skin on the rest of your face. Because it is so delicate, it is often
an area that is more apt to tell the world our secrets! While heredity
can play a part in whether we are prone to any of these eye issues, there
are some great “eye-dos” to help address these concerns. Looking
for added benefits? Mix a touch of eye cream with your concealer for under-eye
perfection. Plus, your eye cream will also provide the perfect base for
your eye shadows!
Dark Circles:
Heredity can play a big role in someone having dark under-eye
circles. The main culprits are sun exposure and lack of rest that create
poor circulation around the eye area. Choosing an eye cream that helps
facilitate circulation in this area as well as provides some instant brightening
will allow the eye area to appear lighter and younger looking.

Puffiness:
Whether you watched that must-see, tear-jerker or went a bit
overboard at that party, fluid retention around the eye area can make
you appear older than your years. Choose an eye balm designed to soothe
delicate skin while helping to de-puff those bags!

Lines and Wrinkles:
Because the skin around the eyes is so delicate, sun damage and
expression lines appear more readily in this area. Choose an eye cream
that offers firming benefits while providing necessary hydration to that
ultrathin skin.

And don’t forget …
- Sleep — at least 8 hours!
- Invest in good sunglasses; not only will they protect you from harmful UVA/UVB rays, they will help you avoid squinting!
- Eat a well-rounded diet that also includes plenty of water!
- Pamper your eye area with cold eye masks, tea bags or cool cucumber slices!
Age Spots
Causes:
The sun causes up to 90% of premature aging in your skin. Only
10% is due to a birthday. Age spots form when the pigment-producing cells
in your skin overproduce melanin. This overproduction is caused by unprotected
sun exposure. As we age, our body’s ability to protect itself and
to produce even pigmentation can decrease. Pockets of melanin travel vertically
to the surface of the skin and cause age spots to become more visible
over time.
Solutions: Protect your skin from the sun every day by wearing a minimum SPF 15 on your skin. |

Wrinkles
Causes:
The sun is your biggest skin offender. Results of sun exposure
over time can start out as a few fine lines near your eyes and then progress
to more visible lines and a loss of skin’s elasticity all over the
face. The best defense is a great offense — wear a sun protection
factor (SPF) of at least 15 every day to protect you from “casual”
sun exposure — in fact, even on a cloudy day! Those harmful UVA
(aging) rays penetrate through clouds and windows! So, if you’re
driving the car to work, eating lunch outside, walking the dog when you
come home — all exposure is cumulative, so protection is
a must to keep skin at its best!

Redness/Irritation
Causes:
Many factors can contribute to a skin that is more sensitive
— culprits include the sun, change in climate, alcohol, smoking,
poor diet, stress, detergents, medication, genetics, just to name a few!
Skin that is sensitive often appears red, irritated and blotchy. It is
important to use products that are low in synthetic chemicals and ingredients.
Natural ingredients and fragrance-free products are the way to go. Botanical-based
products utilize the calming effects of plants to strengthen, smooth and
comfort the skin.
