California Electronic Waste Fee
Sales of new video display devices having a screen size of more than 4 inches measured diagonally are subject to an electronic waste recycling fee, which Kohls.com will be temporarily assuming. These "covered electronic devices" (CEDs) include:
- Televisions that contain cathode ray tubes;
- Portable DVD players;
- Computer monitors that contain cathode ray tubes or use liquid crystal displays;
- Laptop computers;
- "Bare" cathode ray tubes or any other product that contains a cathode ray tube.
The fee ranges from $6 to $10 per CED sale. Fees are based on the size of the video display, measured diagonally.
Greater than 4 inches, but less than 15 inches - $6
Greater than or equal to 15 inches, but less than 35 inches - $8
Greater than or equal to 35 inches - $10
