West Side Elementary School has been participating in the Kohl's Cares for Kids Fundraising Card Program since fall of 2000. That in itself is a testimony as to the success of the program for our building! It is a "win-win" situation for all involved. Parents and teachers use the cards to pay for things they would normally purchase, while helping out the kids at the same time! Over the years, we have used the money earned for a variety of different purposes: acquisition of books to support our take-home reading program, funding of educational field trips, purchase of DVD players, projectors, etc. for classroom use. We plan to continue our participation in the program! Thank you, Kohl's!

I am so happy to let you know that your program has helped our school tremendously and we are SO grateful. In the last year alone, we have been able to purchase new math textbooks for our students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, new sixth grade science textbooks and five new computers for our lab. I am the scrip manager at Newman Catholic Schools. From July 1, 2004 through September 30, 2006, we have sold $254,830 of Kohl's gift cards with a profit of $12,741.50. This profit is split. The parents receive 40% to help with tuition assistance and 60% goes back to Newman to keep technology current. Thanks for your generosity.
