If you have difficulties accessing the system, please confirm you are using a compatible Web browser and check the browser settings to ensure the pop-up blocker is disabled.

How do I register my account?

To register, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization contact will need the organization’s Employer Identification Number (EIN) as established by the IRS.

  1. Go to http://gms.kohls.com.
  2. Click the Register: Nonprofits link in the middle of the page.
  3. You will be presented with two steps.
  4. Click the Search button provided within Step 1. This will open up a search window.
  5. Search for your organization using the Employer Identification Number (EIN) in the EIN field and leaving all other fields blank.
    • If you are unable to find your organization in this search window, click on the Close button provided at the bottom of the window and proceed with Step 2.
      • Clicking on the Continue Search button will open another search window. Although it appears similar to the previous search window and functions in the same manner, this search will run against a secondary database. Enter only your EIN in the EIN # field leaving all other fields blank and click Search.
        1. If no results are found, please confirm your organization is a current
501(c)(3) nonprofit as defined by the IRS. If your organization is a current 501(c)(3) nonprofit, please provide a valid copy of your organization's Letter of Determination or I-990 form by emailing it to AssociatesinAction@kohls.com and Kohl's will assist you further. Note: Only valid youth-serving, ages birth to 18 years, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are eligible for the program.
  6. Select your organization by clicking on the Organization Name. The majority of the fields are prepopulated with data pulled directly from the IRS, but a few fields can be modified. Proceed with making corrections to the payment address information for the organization if needed.
  7. Complete the Contact Registration information to create your nonprofit user account to access the system.
    • Provide a valid email address which will be your username when you log in.
    • An automatically generated password and other notifications will be sent to this email.
    • To ensure emails are received, add AssociatesinAction@kohls.com to your list of approved senders.
  8. All required fields on the registration page are marked with an asterisk (*). Once you have completed the fields, click Submit.
  9. After you have successfully completed the registration process, you will be directed to a confirmation screen. It can take up to 30 minutes to receive your log-in information depending on your email server. Once you have received your email, you can log in to the Grant Management System site to create, submit and manage your events.

How do I navigate within the Grant Management System?

As a registered user, there are many resources available on how to use and navigate the Grant Management System. Once you are logged into the Grant Management System, please reference the menu bar and click on the “Resources” tab. Here you will find resources that walk through the process of submitting a request for volunteers and managing your events electronically at all stages (before, during and after the event).
