KOHL’S DONATES $100,000 TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR MIDWEST FLOOD RELIEF EFFORTS
Kohl’s Also Encourages its Associates to Volunteer in Flooded Communities

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., June 20, 2008 — Today Kohl’s (NYSE: KSS) announced a $100,000 cash donation toward flood relief efforts in the Midwest. Kohl’s is providing this donation to the American Red Cross which is delivering much-needed emergency assistance throughout the region. The donation will support state disaster relief funds, with $25,000 allocated to Wisconsin and $15,000 contributions to Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri.

In addition to a financial contribution, Kohl’s is encouraging its associates to volunteer in support of cleanup efforts through its
A-Team program. When five or more Kohl’s associates volunteer to help residents in the affected areas now through July 14, Kohl’s will donate a $500 grant to the American Red Cross or other flood-relief nonprofits in hopes of further supporting the affected areas. To involve a Kohl’s A-Team in flood cleanup efforts, contact your local Kohl's store and ask to speak with the store manager about A-Team. Find your nearest Kohl’s by visiting www.kohlscorporation.com.

“Many families in Kohl’s communities will feel the impact of the floods for some time to come,” said Julie Gardner, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Kohl’s Department Stores. “The American Red Cross was immediately available to help in flooded areas — we’re pleased to provide funding as well as volunteer our time to help with this cleanup effort.”

Kohl’s and its associates are actively involved in the communities it serves. In 2007, more than 39,000 Kohl’s associates participated in the A-Team associate volunteerism program, totaling more than 136,000 hours of service and $3.2 million in grants to youth-serving nonprofit organizations. Through Kohl's Cares for Kids®, the company supports a merchandise program that benefits children's health and education initiatives; offers fundraising gift cards for schools and youth-serving organizations; and operates the Kohl’s Kids Who Care® Scholarship Program, which recognizes young volunteers.
