KOHL'S BACK-TO-SCHOOL PROMOTION IS THE TICKET FOR MUSIC FANS
One lucky shopper could win exclusive concert from Grammy-Award
winner Michelle Branch; more than 200,000 prizes available through
"Ticket to Win" promotion
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., July 30, 2004 Kohl's Department Stores
is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for music fans this
back-to-school season. One lucky Kohl's shopper will win an exclusive
concert at his/her school from Grammy-Award winning musician Michelle
Branch through Kohl's "Ticket to Win" promotion.
From July 29 through August 15, 2004, Kohl's shoppers can enter
to win a performance by Branch for them and up to 1,000 of their
closest school friends. Instant-win game pieces are available at
participating Kohl's stores and affixed to the front of the Kohl's
ad inserted in newspapers on August 1.
More than 200,000 prizes are up for grabs through the "Ticket
to Win" promotion. In addition to the grand prize, people can
win trips to see Branch live in concert at one of her tour stops,
Ticketmaster gift certificates and more.
"We're excited to partner with Michelle Branch and to offer
unique prizes for our shoppers," said Julie Gardner, senior
vice president of marketing for Kohl's. "Offering a free concert
by one of the most popular and talented performers is Kohl's way
of celebrating the new back-to-school season."
Branch won a Grammy Award in 2003 and also was awarded a MTV Viewer's
Choice Award after her debut album sold 2.5 million records. Just
21, she has shared tours with well-known artists such as Sheryl
Crow and the Dixie Chicks.
After receiving a game piece, entrants should visit an in-store
kiosk at any Kohl's store and place the game piece under the red
reveal panel to decode a promotion prize message. Eligible prize-winners
need to mail in their game pieces by September 1, 2004 to claim
their prize. The sweepstakes is open to legal U.S. residents, age
18 and older. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The grand
prize concert date and venue will be determined after a winner has
been chosen.
